This place does a great breakfast.  They're really upgraded their options and they do a great job catering to kids.  Our kids call it the "pancake store" and it's always a treat for them.  For the adults, the chicken and waffles is outstanding.

I'd give zero stars but that's not an option. Horribly burnt spinach and feta omelet, tasteless pancakes, refilled ketchup bottle from 2011. Corned beef hash did not even resemble corned beef. Coffee is garbage. Very disappointed.

I love this restaurant! A good home diner with great prices for brunch and breakfast. Gosh I love a place that serves breakfast all day. We came in at 12pm and stayed until the poor waitress told us that they closed at 3 and it was already 3:30pm. We appreciated her mot rushing us in anyway as I was in town visiting friends.
She had veggie omelet which was huge and tasty! I has the freshest french toast super fluffy with crispy hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, bacon for $11! I took half home it was so much good food for a great price! Next visit home to Chicago I'm bringing my whole family!

New Ownership has made this place a different experience in a good way! I LOVE the breakfast special they are running from 7-9am Monday- Friday. I think it's a genius campaign and has me looking at that door every time I drive by- that and the BYOB.

The food was great! I had a French toast combo with eggs and bacon. Standard fare but well cooked and I have to say they Herland the host (/owner?) has a love for customer service. What a superb asset for a restaurant. The gal who greeted me too was just so sweet and they liked my style of bringing in my own Bloody Mary from Norwood Park wine and spirits (walking distance)! The inner decor definitely needs an update but until more people go here it's likely to stay the same... a bit dated but as charming as the personalities who serve.

This place is a yes now. They weren't always but yes. Go here.

Update 12/22/18: More recently I might have caught Holly on an off day but my service was very transactional. I was kinda like in my head... talk to me! Ask how I am like Herland does! That put a little sting to the regular priced breakfast I ate... same dish as above only that with a coffee cost $14 which was plenty. Anyway I had initially given a 5 star. Might have been over zealous. Anyway, I'll be back...

The eggs and hashbrowns were OK, but the strip steak was hands down the worst tasting one I have ever had. I took a few bites, then ate everything else on the plate, leaving that vile waste of an animal for the trash. I keep coming back to this place when I hear there are new owners and it keeps being horrible. The steak was cheap meat, had the consistency of being steamed, and tasted as if it was seasoned by the creator of Malort. It was like eating food when you're at someone's house and everyone knows they can't cook, so you hold your gag reflex and smile as you consume what tastes like castor oil. After years of trying, I am firmly convinced that this location is cursed. It doesn't matter who owns it, it's going to be roughly the quality of what I imagine they serve at the nursing home across the tracks. Never again.
